Position Objective: The Bookshop Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service while promoting and selling books and retail items. They will keep the Bookshop clean and orderly to ensure a great guest experience by creating a safe and welcoming environment in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision, values and standards of conduct. Our desire is for every guest to have a positive, loving encounter with our staff that encourages them to explore a relationship with Jesus. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings, which includes prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.  Position Objective The RES Front Desk/Guest Services Receptionist/Host must positively represent the organization with professionalism, friendliness and a pleasant appearance, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.   Key Job Accountabilities - Open the front lobby, turn on the main phone and radios and make sure the lobby is presentable. - Open the vault and set up the front desk with the cash drawer and paychecks for staff. - Make and manage keys for guests. - Greet guests and staff as they enter the lobby. Record complaints and questions as necessary. - Answer phones in a professional manner. - Sort registration mail, distribute staff paychecks, check the online info-mail, and balance the cash drawer as needed. - Make copies, send faxes as needed. - Put away the cash drawer and additional items in the vault and lock it, as well as turn off the lights, phone, radio and lock up the building at the end of the day. All staff join into our community life of prayer, worship and spiritual activity, including but not limited to staff meetings, attendance at programs, Bible Study, and staff gatherings.   As an Adventure Guide you’ll be trained to lead a safe, exciting and memorable experience for your guests on the Sequoia Aerial Adventure course -- a 40+ element challenge course in a breathtaking redwood forest. Starting at $16hr plus tips you’ll work alongside fellow adventurers, develop new skills and have opportunities to grow into other positions like guiding the Redwood Canopy Tour.    Work 5 days a week, or 5 days a month. As part-timers, our team loves having the freedom to pair this role with other pursuits such as a degree, a creative side hustle, or any of the exhilarating outdoor activities the Santa Cruz mountains have to offer.    As an Adventure Guide, on a given workday you will do the following: - Arrive at the scheduled shift start time ready to go regardless of the weather! - Co-lead tours of up to 10 guests on our adventure courses. Food Retail is defined as all operations in the following locations: the Conference Center Snack Shop and Espresso Cart, Redwood Camp Snack Shop, and Ponderosa Camp Snack Shop. Catering is defined as all operations of food service outside of the Conference Center and Ponderosa Lodge Dining Hall such as Redwood Camp catering, conference center beverage breaks and any other special event that requires mobile food service.
