We are looking for people who want to meet and exceed our guests' expectations by providing healthy and professional meal delivery to our camp guests and other event clients. We love creating a fun and dynamic work atmosphere and know that food helps people come together. 


The Dining Server I position is a Non-Ministerial position. Non-ministerial staff serve in operational and service support roles and are not required to affirm MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. It is desired that staff who fill these roles are followers of Jesus Christ and embrace MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, if they are not a follower of Jesus Christ, they are expected in the course of their employment to abide by MHA’s Christian Standards of Conduct and respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. All staff join into our community life of prayer, worship and spiritual activity, including but not limited to staff meetings, attendance at programs, Bible Study, and staff gatherings.

Position Objective:

The Dining Server I provides exceptional service to our Conference Center guests by personally engaging with the guests to make their stay enjoyable while offering food and beverage service, clearing and bussing, and performing setup, reset and cleaning tasks. The ultimate aim is to bless and minister to guests, as applicable, in the dining realm of guest service, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Ensure guest satisfaction and provide a memorable visit through provision of exceptional service (friendly, safe, efficient, thorough, ministry minded).
  • Consistently respectful and professional in all aspects of the position.
  • Work well with co-workers, guests, and other MHA staff; display a team-oriented mindset and attitude.
  • Serve staff and guest meals safely as assigned.
  • Follow specific instructions from the directing supervisor, staying on task at all times.
  • Multi-task while maintaining great attention to detail in order to achieve a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist in packaging meals and set up for catering events.
  • Follow beverage recipes for service as assigned.
  • Perform preparation, cleanup, and reset duties to prepare for meal service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

At least two years of High School.


Work Experience:


None required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to take directions and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Exhibit serving essentials such as helping guests with all types of inquiries, answer menu questions, running food orders or special diet requests.
  • Ability to openly communicate with supervisors in a respectful manner to help develop the dining experience for our guests through positive feedback, and guest comments.
  • Ability to work well with co-workers, supervisors, guests, and other MHA staff.
  • Ability to work and interact positively with a large variety of people.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently self-manage and stay on task.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to be organized and practice safe food handling, safe service, and proper cleaning/disinfecting procedures.Ability to be flexible and adjust as needs and priorities change.
  • Ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Customer service oriented – passionate about serving MHA’s guests and staff.
  • Possess a positive and cheerful demeanor.
  • Reliable and hardworking.
  • Highly detail oriented, yet able to keep the big picture in mind and respond accordingly.
  • Complete beverage service if trained accordingly.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work most major holidays with the exception of Christmas.
  • Prefer applicants with weekday and weekend availability.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Ability to arrive on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Ability and willingness to actively engage with the rest of the dining staff in serving up to 1,200 guests at a time.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
