    Regular Part-Time 0-35 Hours Weekly


    Position Objective:


    To assist the Accommodations Manager in all phases of department operations including, but not limited to, cleaning, laundry, scheduling, staff training, unit inspecting, applicant processing, record keeping and linen order calculations in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.


    Key Job Accountabilities:

    • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness of all guest rooms and cabins under guidance of the Accommodations Manager
    • Assist with the development of staff training and implementation to ensure that standards are being communicated to employees
    • Report all custodial and maintenance issues in a timely manner in order to assist with guestroom improvements to ensure the best guest experience possible
    • Assist with communicating to employees safe practices at work and report all safety concerns to the Accommodations Manager and Safety committee directly
    • Complete all daily housekeeping rounds as instructed by Accommodations Manager
    • Identify opportunities for improvement with employees performance and assist with coaching and retraining where necessary
    • Assist the Accommodations Manager in all day-to-day Accommodations operational tasks.
    • Assist with employee spiritual development by helping to prepare and lead bi-weekly staff devotions.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:


    In the Accommodation Manager’s absence, this position is responsible for supervising the following employees:


    • Room Attendants/Housekeepers
    • Laundry Attendants
    • Linen Driver
    • Room Inspectors


    General Qualifications  


    A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Of strong moral character and integrity.

    Work Experience:


    • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    • Knowledge of MHA’s layout, units and cabin locations helpful.  
    • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments, direct performance of assigned staff and follow up where needed.  
    • Ability to work under pressure.  


    • High attention to detail and ability to take initiative to strive for excellence in all duties.  
    • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements and use of equipment and knowledge of proper and safe chemical handling.  
    • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.  Ability to communicate in Spanish very helpful.
    • Ability to perform assigned duties with speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, a spirit of cooperation and with a minimum of supervision.  
    • Ability to maintain departmental standards, policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel spreadsheets and basic computer skills required

    Key Job Accountabilities

    Physical Demands:


    The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, reaching, twisting, ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.  Constant walking on hilly and uneven surfaces required.

    Additional Requirements:


    • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.  
    • Ability to work weekends and holidays during the summer; may be requested to work overtime on occasion and a varied shift schedule as needed.
    • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
    • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
    • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
