Position Objective:

The Facilities Services Worker II – Night Shift position is responsible for ensuring that MHA’s Conference Center facilities are secure, well cleaned, prepared and serviced for our guests between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values. 


Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Clean facilities during events and camps and assist in fulfilling guest’s needs concerning the facility and accommodations in order to offer a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
  • Assist with periodic maintenance tasks and conduct minor repairs and maintenance on various facilities and equipment.
  • Move furniture and assemble furniture as assigned at various locations.
  • Report all maintenance and repair needs in writing to supervisor to ensure necessary and timely repairs.
  • Follow all safety guidelines set forth by MHA as well as equipment & supply manufacturers to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Report all safety hazards or unsafe practices to supervisor or appropriate department head to ensure the prevention of accidents and to preserve each individual’s health and safety.
  • Properly maintain all assigned tools, equipment and vehicles to ensure they are available when needed.
  • Ensure all facilities are locked and secure to minimize the opportunity for theft. Report suspicious activity to the Security Guard on duty as well as the Facilities Services Manager.
  • Participate in department and MHA meetings as required by the Facilities Services Manager to foster effective communication and positive relationships.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Services Manager.



General Qualifications:


The Facilities Services Worker II – Night Shift is a Non-Ministerial position. Non-Ministerial staff who serve in operational and service support roles are not required to affirm Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision and beliefs. However, they are expected in the course of their employment to respect, work in harmony with, and not undermine MHA’s Christian mission, vision and beliefs. Non-Ministerial staff join into our community life of prayer, worship and spiritual activity, including but not limited to staff meetings, attendance at programs, Bible Study, and staff gatherings. 


  • High School Graduate


Work Experience:

  • Some previous custodial experience.
  • Basic mechanical experience and ability.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be observant, have an eye for detail, and not be hindered by repetition of the work.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to work well with others and alone.
  • Ability to receive and follow directions through to completion.
  • Exceptional ability to relate well with staff and guests.
  • Must have sufficient written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with staff and guests.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills in the area of cleaning and maintenance.
  • Ability to operate a variety of vehicles including trucks.


Additional Requirements

Physical Demands:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Position requires walking, and climbing up/down stairs and ladders. Additional requirements include seeing, hearing, talking, sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. is required.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to produce documentation of a current and valid driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s mission, vision, values and commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
