    Casual Part-Time 0-40 hours weekly

     

    Position Objective:

     

    The Per Diem Nurse/Health Supervisor is responsible for the health needs of participants and staff on a per-diem basis, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

    Key Job Accountabilities:

     

    • Oversees MHA healthcare centers for the days and times for which they are scheduled.
    • Advises MHA program team as serious health related situations arise.
    • Enforces MHA’s Healthcare Services’ Policies and Procedures.
    • Oversees completion and submission of Workers’ Compensation forms, Campers’ Insurance and guest or participants’ Incident reports.
    • Keeps Healthcare Services Administrator up to date and informed about any serious injuries or illness.
    • Utilizes Circuitree to document healthcare delivered and phone reports to parents.
    • Documents staff clinical interactions in the Campers’ Log.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

     

    May direct the work of Health Technicians while on duty.

     

    Qualifications

    General Qualifications:


    A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization.  Of strong moral character and integrity.

     

    Education/Certifications/Licenses:

     

    • Professional education and licensure (RN, NP, PA, MD, or DO). Consideration will be given to LVN and new RN graduates.
    • Must have AED, First Aid and CPR (infant, child, and adult) certifications.

     

    Work Experience:

    .

    • Experience and skill at teaching preventative health practices.
    • Prefer experience in school, emergency or camp nursing.
    • Experience working with junior and high school students preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

    • Able to utilize their professional judgement in stride with MHA’s medical standing orders to direct the healthcare team’s response to injuries, illnesses and emergencies.
    • Ability to be an empathic, flexible and effective leader.
    • A heart to serve wherever and whenever needed.
    • An active listener with strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Bilingual skills helpful.

    Key Job Accountabilities

    Physical Demands:

     

    • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and hiking.
    • Ability to see, hear, grasp and speak English.

     

    Additional Requirements:

     

    • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
    • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
    • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
