Overview

Casual Part-Time 0-30 hours weekly 

 

 

Position Objective:

 

Under the supervision of the Lead Pantry, the Pantry Assistant is responsible for the preparation and storage of a wide variety of cold food products, cleaning and sanitizing in a manner consistent with health and safety codes as well as MHA’s mission, vision, and values.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

 

  • Follow production schedule by lead Pantry.
  • Prepare food in accordance with MHA’s standards for taste and appearance to present guests with fresh salads and fruits.
  • Prepare salads proportionate to number of guests and lines at buffet stations.
  • Prepare items for event breaks and special events.
  • Follow proper portions and plating of pantry products.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

  • Does not supervise other employees.

Qualifications

General Qualifications:


Able to respect the Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs. Of strong moral character and integrity.

Education:

 

  • High School Graduation or equivalent.

Work Experience:

 

  • No experience necessary

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Demonstrate competence making judgments concerning taste palatability, and aesthetics of food quality.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently.
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, with a high energy level.
  • Ability to communicate in English with other team members.
  • Ability to work well with others and maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor.
  • Possess a cooperative spirit with management and desire to learn and improve their work.

Key Job Accountabilities

Physical Demands:

 

  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to stand and move around the majority of the workday.
  • Requires the ability to work in cold environments (fridge / freezer).

Additional Requirements/Skills:

 

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as well as a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to become ServeSafe certified.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
