    Regular Part-Time 20-35 hours weekly



    Position Objective:


    The purpose of the Facilities Services Worker I position is to aid Mount Hermon in its ministry goals by keeping the physical facilities clean, attractive and functional to ensure guest safety and satisfaction in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.


    Key Job Accountabilities:

    • Assist in preparation of facilities for camps and conferences to serve the needs of our campers and guest groups.
    • Clean facilities during events and camps and assist in fulfilling guest’s needs concerning the facility and accommodations in order to offer a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
    • Assist with periodic maintenance tasks, which may include: carpet cleaning, window washing, pressure-washing walkways, hauling debris to dump, stocking fire wood, etc. to keep the facilities looking their best on an ongoing basis.
    • Report all maintenance and repair needs in writing to Supervisor to enable the right people to be notified and ensure necessary repairs will be completed in a timely manner.
    • Follow all safety guidelines set forth by the Mount Hermon Association, Inc., as well as equipment & supply manufactures to maintain a safe work environment for all.
    • Report all safety hazards or unsafe practices to Supervisor or appropriate Department Head to ensure the prevention of accidents and to preserve each individual’s health and safety.
    • Properly maintain all assigned tools, equipment and vehicles in consideration for the next person who will use the tools, equipment or vehicle and to ensure they are available when needed.
    • Other tasks as directed by the Supervisor.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:


    May occasionally direct a moderately skilled seasonal employee or volunteer as assigned by Supervisor.


    General Qualifications:


    A mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in their faith.  Fully in accord with Mount Hermon’s mission, vision, values and statement of beliefs.  Committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization.  Of strong moral character and integrity.




    High School Graduate.


    Work Experience:


    • Previous custodial experience.
    • Basic mechanical experience and ability. 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    • Must be observant, have an eye for detail, and not be hindered by degree of repetition of the work. 
    • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
    • Should work well with others, or alone, and be able to receive and follow directions through to completion.
    • Ability to relate well with staff and guests is required.
    • Must have sufficient written and verbal skills to satisfactorily communicate with staff and guests.
    • Ability to operate large vehicles and stick shift.

    Key Job Accountabilities

    Physical Demands:

    • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
    • Position requires walking, and climbing up/down stairs and ladders. Additional requirements include sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, pushing and pulling.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. is required.

    Additional Requirements/Skills:


    • Must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends.
    • Must be able to produce documentation of a current and valid driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
    • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
    • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
